Beautiful Type

Lodon based illustrator, and type designer Sebastian Lester is a very talented man. He has created typefaces and type illustrations for some of the world's biggest companies, publications and events, including Apple, Nike, Intel, The New York Times, The 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics and JD Salinger's final reissue of The Catcher in the Rye. The work is meticulous and impassioned.

His new composition, "Peace"– A limited edition screen print is “a melding of inspiration from many sources including Anglo Saxon art, 18th and 19th century virtuoso penmanship and Medieval illumination.”

One of the things that I liked about his site is his collection of found typography. He's got some great snap shots of beautiful type from buildings, books and more. I can see where some of his inspiration comes from. It's a lovely gallery.
