Portland Metro Art Awards

I helped with a field trip for my daughters high school art class last week. They went to one of my favorite art colleges here in Portland, PNCA. The exhibition was for the  Portland Metro Scholastic Art Awards, a national project that encourages, fosters and rewards creativity in our nation’s classrooms. I was really impressed with the work of these young and talented kids.

The show ends Feb 25th and features Gold Key work from 7th- to 12th-grade students. The Gold Key work then moves on to the National level where it will be judged against Gold Key work from other states. Last year the state of Oregon received the third most Gold Medals at the National level.
Pretty cool.
